Interstellar (2014) (12A)

November 11 - 2014

Intersellar - movie poster The world is dying, crops are failing, the land is turning to dust, and the human race faces its greatest threat to date, total extinction.

A team of explorers travel through a wormhole in an attempt to find a potentially habitable planet that will sustain humanity.

Directed and co-written by Christopher Nolan (The Dark Night Trilogy, Inception) this film leaves you with the sense that it is giving a huge nod of appreciation to Kubrik's classic 2001: A Space Odyssey. Even the dialogue references it.

Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway lead the eventual race through time and space to discover humanities salavation.

Supporting performances from John Lithgow, Michael Cain, Jessica Chastain and Matt Damon.

The true physics may have been ignored over artistic license, but this was an enjoyable movie. Anything that involves time travel, space travel and iconic AI, starts me of with pluses in the win column.

I give Interstellar 8/10.
